On Safari in Tanzania – the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater

View of the Ngorongoro Crater at dawn.

I will be honest, I am at a complete loss for words at the beauty and majesty of the animals, landscape, skies and nature which I have seen over the last few days on my recent trip to the Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti and the Great Rift Valley in Tanzania.

Everything I write seems to sound so cliched and naff that I have now given up trying.

So I shall simply include my photographs and leave the words to Nobel Prize winner Doris Lessing, taken from her second volume of Collected Africa Stories ‘The Sun Between Their Feet’:

“Africa gives you the knowledge that man is a small creature, among other creatures, in a large landscape.”

Move over Julian, Dick, Ann, George and Timmy the Dog, this Famous Five (well not so famous five, but you know what I’m getting at) went on Safari and met the big five – the African lion, African elephant, cape buffalo, African leopard and the black rhinoceros.

So wonderful to know that you, Mark and the children are experiencing and learning from Mother Nature which is so evident where you live! So enjoyable and enriching.
