For the last year I have been part of a group of artists called Urban Sketchers Stockholm. On the last Sunday of each month the group meets to draw and paint a place on-location Stockholm .
Stockholm Urban Sketchers are part of a global community of artists who sketch and paint different places around the world. An urban sketch is a drawing created on-location, whether that be inside or outside, capturing what the artist sees from direct observation. Urban sketchers use different media to tell the story of their surroundings, the places they live, and where they travel.
In the last 12 months we have painted in a variety of places: on the island of Långholmen, at the Antikrundan in Hågelbyparken, the Julmarknad in Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s Central Station, Odenplan, the National Museum , Slottsbacken and Koppartälten in Haga Parken.
